2011 Honda VFR1200FD
The VFR1200FD features dual clutch transmission, the world's first fully automatic dual clutch transmission for large-displacement motorcycles. This new transmission offers riders the enjoyment of full sports riding capabilities along with effortless and seamless operation, applied in a powerful, large-displacement machine. At the same time, this transmission's superior efficiency can deliver fuel efficiency equal to or better than a conventional manual transmission. To respond to rider demands through a broad range of conditions and situations, the transmission offers three operating modes: two full-auto modes (D-mode for relaxed, fuel efficient operation and S-mode for sports riding), and a six-speed gear-select mode for full rider control via electronic trigger-shift controls that deliver the same shifting response as a manual transmission.


C-ABS
Combined Antilock Brake System.Optimises the balance of front and rear braking control while counteracting tyre slip when braking over variable road conditions.
HISS
Honda Ignition Security System. Only allows the bike to be started by its original encoded keys to effectively protect against theft.

PLRS
Pro-Link Rear Suspension. Monoshock rear suspension utilises a triangular linkage system to progressively increase damping force through range of rear swingarm movement.
UNICAM
UNICAM Engine features. innovative Unicam valve train, providing both the light weight of a compact single-cam drive and an optimum combustion chamber shape for maximum power at all engine speeds.
HECS3
Honda Evolutional Catalysing System. Oxygen-sensing system maintains an optimal air/fuel mixture for the most effective catalytic reduction of exhaust emissions. -
